Always in good company: my dogs and my camera

Whilst I work, someone keeps a close watch on me hoping that there will be a break soon for some fooling around in the backyard. As usual, keeping one of my cameras in reach - in this case my Fujifilm X-Pro1 - is the only way to keep these visual moments frozen in time so that I can revisit them one day.

The cinematic look or a simple black and white photo?

I frequently keep my x-pro1 by my side with a 50mm f1.8 Nikon lens on the Fotodiox adapter. My dogs rotate shifts between them, sleeping on a chair by my side. Some are more tolerant to the lens staring at them than others. Often they are quite photogenic. For this one I was going for that cinematic look, with an extremely narrow depth-of-field the catch lights on the eyes and soft natural light. The cinematic look of the early days of movies on a naughty girl - Nita. Or should we call her Nita Hayworth?
