Photographer or scavenger?

My guess is this is a young stork that was too eager to leave its nest and flew too far from it too soon, landing on a river bank where its parents are not feeding it. It is only a guess but, be that as it may, it seems obvious that this stork is not doing well as it has been on the same spot for a few days now, sleeping in the shallow waters seeking shelter in the abundant water hyacinths.

I went back to the same spot a couple of times over the next fews days, but there was a moment when I felt that I would feel bad to keep on returning to that place. I could not help the stork and maybe I was not supposed to. I was quite convinced that I would end up witnessing the slow death of the bird or a different ending: swift but no less tragic. Not being able to do anything for the young stork, I would end up feeling that I was taking advantage of its calvary to get my self a few more pictures, possibly even a few impacting shots, I would feel more of a scavenger than a photographer. That did not seem right, so over 5 days have passed since I last went there. Tomorrow, I will go back. It is a place that I visit frequently, so I would have to go back, eventually. But I am hoping that the stork is no longer there and that I do not get to know what happened to it....unless it flies by.
